Wall to Wall, one of the few British independent production companies to set up its own distribution arm in the wake of the new terms of trade, has poached one of Warner Bros International Television's sales execs to add to its line-up.

Nick Pawsey, who will report to Claire Hungate (Director of Commercial and Legal Affairs) will be charged with building on Wall to Wall's successes in distribution and expanding the operation into new territories.  The company will be taking its most diverse slate to date to MipTV in April ranging from factual entertainment formats, to drama-docs through to completed series and singles that span obs doc, fact ent, factual drama and specialist factual titles.  Nick commented 'It's an exciting time to be joining the independent sector and especially a company like Wall to Wall that is already well placed in the international market and has a worldwide reputation for quality programme making.'

Wall to Wall took its first stand to distribute its own product at MipTV in 2004 with the onset of the new terms of trade.  Claire Hungate puts the company’s growing success down to 'diversity, volume and quality.  As our customer base grows and we get the message to broadcasters that we are distributing our own programmes now so will the operation grow organically.  We have very low overheads so we don't have any of the expensive infrastructure of the big distribution operations.  This means we can be profitable which lots of distributors struggle with.'

New product going to market this time round includes second and third series of the award winning Who Do You Think You Are?, a study of child prodigies entitled Growing Up Gifted and, seven years on from the groundbreaking international reality history hit '1900 House', the franchise’s most ambitious title to date, Texas Ranch House.
