Leading independent producer Wall to Wall has appointed Stuart Mullin as Financial Director. Mullin joins the independent from the BBC where he was Head of Production for the BBC’s Specialist Factual division.
He joins the Wall to Wall management team at a moment of dynamic change for the independent sector. Wall to Wall Chief Executive Alex Graham said : “As both our international production and intellectual property businesses grow, it became clear to us that we needed a financial director with vision and experience to take us to the next level. We are delighted to have attracted someone of Stuart’s calibre. He brings a breadth of experience in production, distribution and broadcasting at a crucial time in the company’s development.”
Mullin began his career at Ernst and Young before joining BBC Worldwide in 1996. He then joined Channel Five as part of their Strategic and Financial Planning team before joining the BBC’s corporate finance team in 2001. During his time at the BBC he has worked across the whole range of the broadcaster’s activities from production to channel strategy to new media and the corporation’s commercial subsidiaries including BBC Ventures and BBC Worldwide.
Wall to Wall’s hit series New Tricks and Who Do You Think You Are? return for two further series each in 2006 and spearhead a diverse slate of production for the UK and overseas. Through its commercial division the company has also significantly ramped up its international intellectual property exploitation in programme and format sales, publishing and, most recently, software (with the best-selling genealogy title Who Do You Think You Are Family Tree Maker).
