Wall to Wall wins US order worth $4m
Wall to Wall has strengthened its position in the US with new orders including a commission worth around $4m (£2.2m).
The indie’s New York office has landed a 13 x 60-minute series for US network Bravo, owned by broadcaster NBC. The show will be based on Wall to Wall’s entertainment show Five Things I Hate About You, which originally aired on BBC2 last year as six half-hour episodes.
The series, which will air on Bravo this summer, was ordered by Shari Levine and will be executive produced by Leanne Klein and Amanda Murray, who series produced the original show. Wall to Wall chief executive Alex Graham told Broadcast that the commission was worth $4m to the indie.
Wall to Wall is also about to start working on the third series of its US show Health Cops Undercover. The 4 x 60-minute run will air on Discovery Health at the end of the year.
The indie’s New York office currently employs over 50 temporary and permanent staff and its management is hoping to increase the scale of the stateside operation.
Wall to Wall deputy chief executive Jonathan Hewes explained: "There’s real potential to grow the US business above and beyond our current commissions." He added that Wall to Wall will unveil additional US commissions in the coming months.
