Wall to Wall has been commissioned to produce two more feature-length dramatised biographies for BBC2 following on from its successful franchise which began with the Grierson and International Emmy-winning George Orwell: A Life in Pictures.

In HG Wells: A Life in Pictures, Michael Sheen – star of Dirty Filthy Love and The Deal - takes the lead role in a 90-minute film of the life of the prophetic writer and father of science fiction based on his own writing.  The cast also includes Sally Hawkins (Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky, Layer Cake).

Meanwhile Catherine McCormack (Braveheart, Gunpowder Treason and Plot) stars in Elizabeth David alongside Greg Wise, which tells the story of the extraordinary life of the woman who single-handedly revolutionised the way Britain eats.

Both films are directed by James Kent, produced by Colette Flight and executive produced by Leanne Klein for Wall to Wall.  Adam Kemp (Commissioning Editor, Arts, Music, Performance & Religion) executive produces for the BBC.

Wall to Wall’s previous dramatised biographies for BBC2 have been George Orwell: A Life in Pictures, Agatha Christie: A Life in pictures and Ian Fleming: Bondmaker.
