It really will be Christmas every day as the Robshaw family – stars of BBC2’s Back in Time for Dinner,  time-travel through six decades of festive nostalgia.

Episode 1 – The 1940s,50s and 60s

A wartime Christmas has the Robshaws embracing the make do and mend spirit for presents (carrot fudge anyone?) and sit down to un-rationed ox heart and a Christmas pudding made primarily of grated potato. The 50s brings ham with tinned peaches, canapes, cocktails and the first televised Queen’s speech, while Fred’s 60s gift of a chocolate smoking set would hardly raise an eyebrow back in the day… 

Episode 2 – The 1970s, 1980s and 1990

 The Robshaw’s discover how the race for a Christmas number one single was born, meet an EastEnders star who'll reminisce about the soap's fine tradition of Christmas misery and discover how, as consumerism reached fever pitch in the 90s that Christmas gluttony starts with breakfast and doesn't stop there...
