Based out of Manchester, Wall to Wall’s Northern hub was launched launched on the back of the back of the return of Waterloo Road (a co-production with Rope Ladder Fiction for BBC One and BBC iPlayer) in February 2022. The ambition for this scripted expansion, spearheaded by Executive Producer Sian Palfrey, is to develop and produce high end drama with a northern skew, and invest in and champion both the next generation and established storytellers in the region and beyond.
Sian joined Wall to Wall from Rollem Productions, where she previously worked on BBC Three’s critically acclaimed Overshadowed, ITV’s Girlfriends and BBC’s In The Club, The Syndicate and Love, Lives & Records. Most recently she produced BBC Three’s regional RTS-winning comedy-drama My Left Nut. With over ten years working in Drama in the North of England, Sian has collaborated with the BBC, BBC Writersroom and Leeds Playhouse to launch funded opportunities to identify and mentor new writing talent, and also secured the first broadcast commissions for Broadcast Hotshots Eva O’Connor and Hildegard Ryan, and RTS winners Michael Patrick and Oisín Kearney.
