ITV have commissioned a second series of Wall To Wall’s Little Big Shots, the entertainment show that shines the spotlight on some of the world’s most talented children. Award winning actress and comedienne Dawn French is once again the host.
Based on the hit US format, and with no prizes at stake, no winners or losers and no competition, Little Big Shots is simply a showcase for 4 to 13 year olds to take to the stage and show that you don’t have to be a grown-up to be a star performer.
Series 1 saw talents that ranged from classical music masters and a miniature chef to an ace ventriloquist and a marvelous magician… and of course, Britain’s youngest shepherd… and his sheep! There were tiny dancers, pop sensations, an audacious scooter stunt kid and a spelling bee specialist who were all only just out of nursery.
For the new series, the producers are looking forward to spreading the net even further to find amazing, talented children bursting with enthusiasm and eager to demonstrate a multitude of skills.
Dawn said: “I absolutely loved filming the first series and cannot wait to get started on the second. It’s the show where I get to hang out with incredibly talented children from all over the world, making new friends on the sofa each week. I will never forget Balang from the Philippines, who had me in fits of giggles while teaching me a move or two, or Thomas who sang David Bowie’s Space Oddity so beautifully! In our crazy upside down world, it is great to make a show that is just so positive.”
Peter Davey, Head of Entertainment, ITV said: “This is such a great format and Dawn is the perfect host. I’m looking forward to seeing what extraordinary talents will be unveiled on the next instalment.”
Wall To Wall’s Chief Executive, Leanne Klein, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Little Big Shots is returning to ITV for a second series. With the fantastically funny Dawn French at the helm, the audience have really taken the show to their hearts.”
